Serves: 2
Vegan!

Ingredients
1/3 pound Oyster mushrooms
1 1/2 cups Flour
1 1/2 teaspoons Paprika
1 1/2 teaspoons Garlic powder
1 1/2 teaspoons Onion powder
1 teaspoon Turmeric
1/4 teaspoon Cayenne pepper (or to preference)
1 teaspoon Salt
Pepper to preference
Oil for frying
Condiments such as:
Dipping sauce
Hot sauce
Ketchup
Mustard
(if desired, they can also be enjoyed as part of a sandwich)

Step by Step Instructions
  1. Wipe dirt off of the mushrooms with a damp paper towel. Mix the flour & spices together in a large bowl.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together 1/3 cup of the flour mixture and 3/4 cup of water until a smooth mixture is formed.
  3. Dip each mushroom into the batter, into the flour, into the batter again, and into the flour again (to ensure they are double coated)
  4. Heat the oil in a pot over high heat. Add mushrooms to the pot in small batches and remove them from the oil with tongs once they have turned a golden color.
  5. Put the removed mushrooms onto a plate lined with paper towels to remove excess oil, then place them onto a cooling rack so they will be crispy.
  6. Enjoy the fried mushrooms with condiments of your choice and/or in a sandwich
