Farmer Brown and Back River Farm would love to provide you with Local, Natural and Delicious produce.

*In other news….

We have the opportunity to get fresh frozen Sockeye salmon which is the best of all salmon as a pre-buy in June. This salmon is picked out of the nets of the Alaskan fishing boats before they are put in the holding area below deck and they take these salmon straight to the processor who filet them and flash freeze them! They are shipped to Georgia and all this happens within 2 days! You cannot get fresher than that!

If you are interested in buying salmon which is only available during their season in end of June and month of July. The word is that packages will be about 8 ounces to a pound and sell between $16 to $18 a pound. They will know more as it gets closer. I have a list of those already interested! If you are interested in participing in the pre-buy, please email me at grow@ranchoalegrefarm.com with your name and phone number so we can contact you! This opportunity is through one of our Growers!_

We are still working on workshops for June and I will let you know about those very soon!

_As Always….
_
Please share with friends and family about us so that we can give more people the opportunity to buy and eat healthy! Local farmers need our support to keep providing us with all the fresh foods! If we don’t give them enough business, it’s hard for them to continue to deliver to us. Please let’s not let that happen! Tell your friends about us so we can keep the Growers supported as this is how they make their living. *_

Thank you to all of you who support Gwinnett Locally Grown!

United States Virgin Islands:  This Week in Vi Locally Grown

Greetings!
Once again there are even more new crops coming into the market. Dolores from Bijou farm has been bringing lots of delicious herbs including Rosemary, Sage, and Basil. She also has been bringing ripe papaya and passion fruit seedlings. Chef Tahirah of Divine Delight Delectables is experimenting with new bread recipes, so come on out and taste some of her bread and let us know what you think. Ridge2Reef also has some new crops available at the market including eggplant, cucumbers, sweet and hot peppers, mangoes, carambola, and tamarind.

Also, check out the stellar CSA season Ridge2Reef is having! Just look at all that food you can get for $35!—> There is still time to join and support the territory’s only certified organic CSA. ?

We hope to see you this week! Thank you for your support of the local good food revolution!

Blessings,
Castiel and your VI Locally Grown Growers.

Market News

Welcome back to another week of locally grown and made products. All the farmer’s markets are now open in Rutherford County. Now all your meals can be from local farmers.

Our first sighting of squash comes from Flying S Farms who has also added some new lettuce to the Market. You will still find lots of greens and lettuces on the Market.

Wedge Oak Farm has added duck legs and wings to their offerings.

Here is a note from Chef Jenny:

The Seeds of Success are back this week with NEW nifty and thrifty seasoning jars ($5.25). Enjoy these seasonings sprinkled on top of summer veggies and your favorite foods. Flavors: Original, Dill-icious, Tur-miracle, and Sun Cheese. http://www.sostn.com/seasonings.html

There are plenty of other products available this week. Browse the categories to see what your will find.

Thanks so much for your support of Stones River Market, all of our growers, local food, and our rights to eat it. We’ll see you on Wednesday at Southern Stained Glass at 310 West Main Street from 5:00 to 6: 30 pm!

Old99Farm Market:  Old 99 Farm could use your help

The push to get me to the keyboard is that I am making hay today and the weather looks promising until Sunday evening with 90% prob of showers. I would love to get the hay in the barn, or at least loaded on a wagon and covered.
This means an opportunity to come to the farm and help out!! For a hour or two, not more. I cut about 2 acres which means about two wagon loads, about 200 bales. We just have to walk the field putting bales on the wagon and building the load, then unloading with a bale elevator into the barn.

If you or a family member can offer a helping hand, I’d very much appreciate it. Logistics: bale Saturday June 6th, and load and put in barn on Sunday.

You can reply by if by email or phone. I likely will need about six people on Sunday starting around 11am.

If you have a couple hours, I will very much appreciate your help.
